Job description

Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist I for their Johnson City, TN location.

Responsibilities:

1. The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
2. Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate equipment, update patient information, and other related duties. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Clearly and courteously explain procedures such as venipuncture and other specimen collections. Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles. Understand and follow physicians' orders and match requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. Verify test requisitions against labels to ensure accuracy. Package specimens for transport, store samples at appropriate temperatures, and follow protocols to maintain specimen integrity. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Answer inquiries and communicate laboratory results effectively.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 2 years of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
