Qualifications

• 0–2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
• Ability to perform blood collection across age groups (neonates to geriatrics).
• Strong communication skills with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection per policies to ensure timely specimens.
• Ensures positive patient identification and proper labeling at bedside.
• Prepares, packages, and transports specimens while maintaining sample integrity.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Maintains equipment and workspace following safety and infection control standards.
• Documents patient and specimen information in the LIS and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to resolve collection issues and communicate specimen status.
• Maintains attendance and adheres to hospital policies.
