CHS Career Site is seeking a Phlebotomist in Fort Wayne, IN to join our lab team. This full-time role involves proper blood specimen collection, strict patient identification, and timely transport to the laboratory, with a 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM shift Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities include venipuncture and capillary collection, adherence to safety standards, accurate documentation, and collaboration with clinicians to ensure high-quality patient care. 0-2 years of phlebotomy experience required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
• Ability to perform blood collection techniques across age groups (neonates to geriatrics).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsabilités

• Performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection (finger and heel sticks).
• Ensures positive patient identification and at-bedside labeling of specimens.
• Prepares, packages, and transports specimens to the laboratory.
• Explains procedures to patients and provides reassurance.
• Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains phlebotomy equipment and workspace.
• Accurately documents patient and specimen information in the laboratory system.
• Collects timed specimens as ordered and meets clinical needs.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to resolve collection challenges.
• Adheres to safety requirements and regulatory standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
