Job summary

Actalent is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection in a fast-paced patient service center and laboratory setting in Fairfax, VA.

You will prepare and handle specimens, maintain accurate records, and support training while delivering courteous service to pediatric through geriatric patients. Requires 2+ years in phlebotomy; state certification where required; on-site role with OSHA/DEP compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification required where state regulations demand.
• Proficiency with venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws accurately and efficiently.
• Collect, label, store, and prepare specimens per procedures and test requirements.
• Explain venipuncture and collection process to patients for comfort and understanding.
• Verify accuracy of requisitions and test information against provider scripts.
• Package specimens for transport maintaining temperature control and documentation.
• Follow OSHA/DEP safety and environmental protocols and maintain decontaminated equipment.
