6 Degrees Search is seeking a Phlebotomist to support blood collection and specimen processing in Shelby, NC. The role involves performing venipuncture, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate patient data and lab records.

The position emphasizes adherence to procedures, safety regulations, and collaboration with clinical staff. Schedule is typically weekdays, with training and annual department sessions included.

Competenze

• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state law.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Mansioni

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and follow protocol for transport to maintain integrity; comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
