Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Phlebotomist to support patient testing in Shelby, NC. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate specimen handling within established procedures.

The candidate should have phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, with a high school diploma or GED. Benefits are available and schedule is Monday to Friday during daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience listed in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature.
