Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Phlebotomist in Shelby, NC. Schedule: M-F 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Projected duration: 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and maintaining accurate patient records as part of a busy lab team. Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens per procedures, explaining venipuncture steps to patients, and ensuring proper packaging for transport while adhering to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer inquiries.
