Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples with proper labeling and handling.
• Label, centrifuge, and document specimen information according to procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process to patients clearly and courteously.
• Ensure proper matching of requisitions to specimens and transport conditions.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries via phone.
