Sora Resource Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for Colonial Heights, VA. The role requires hands-on blood draws, specimen labeling and proper handling to ensure specimen integrity. You will work in a fast-paced lab environment and support daily operations.

Responsibilities include following physician orders, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to OSHA/DEP regulations. Training and department meetings are part of the job, with a 3-month project duration and potential for permanent placement.

Formación

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilidades

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to procedures; explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples per required temperature; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
