WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a phlebotomist to perform timely blood collection for inpatients and outpatients, following laboratory guidelines and procedures. The role supports patient care across age groups and requires accurate specimen handling and proper labeling.

The position includes evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, a 20-hour weekly schedule, and non-exempt status. Prior hospital or clinic phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Formación

• Completion of a phlebotomy education program or an allied health education program that includes phlebotomy education and a minimum of 50 successful unaided venipunctures.

Responsabilidades

• Performs blood collection using established laboratory guidelines to acquire acceptable specimens for diagnostic procedures.
• Operates basic laboratory equipment and restocks supplies to assist co-workers.
• Maintains effective communication with patient care units and laboratory staff to ensure timely reporting and resolution of issues.
