Job summary

H. T. PROF Group in Oceanside, CA seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent status.

Shifts from 6AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday, with weekend rotation as needed. Flexible to start as early as 6AM or end by 6PM; mileage expenses are paid. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring proper handling and documentation per protocol.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED 1-4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and communicate results to satisfy inquiries.
