Job summary

MJ Recruiters, LLC is seeking a contract phlebotomist in Vista, CA. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, and maintaining accurate records.

The position is a 3-month contract with potential for permanency and benefits are available. The candidate will collect specimens, explain procedures to patients, and ensure proper transport and storage in line with OSHA/DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED 1-4 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and/or other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples to required temperature and protocol.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings; manage test orders and labeling.
