Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract-based role in Greenwich, CT. The position runs 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays and an initial duration of 3 months, potential to become permanent.

Benefits are available and experience requirements include at least 2 years in phlebotomy-related duties. Key duties include blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation and OSHA/DEP compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 12 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match forms to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store per temperature requirements.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
