Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Phlebotomist in Lakeland, FL for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 6:30am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays.

The position requires a valid phlebotomy certification where applicable, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED
• minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisition forms to specimens.
