Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a Phlebotomist in Lakeland, FL for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires phlebotomy certification, venipuncture experience, and proficiency with lab procedures. Schedule is 6:30am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen processing, labeling, and ensuring compliance with OSHA/DEP guidelines. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years of experience stated in listing.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Match requisition forms to tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
Check test requisitions against script to ensure 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures.
Attend annual department trainings and answer inquiries about results.
