MDS Staffing is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Lakeland, FL. The position runs 6:30am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturdays. Projected duration is 3 months, with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, and data recording, with benefits available. Minimum 2 years of experience and proper phlebotomy certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required where employed.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a busy lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and vessel access using standard techniques.
• Label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Record maintenance data and comply with protocols.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Prepare and transport specimens per OSHA guidelines.
• Attend department trainings and meetings.
