Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates in Oceanside, CA seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule includes 6AM–6PM shifts, with weekend rotation and mileage reimbursement. Requires phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience.

The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper transport of samples, with opportunities to learn and improve workflow while adhering to OSHA/DEP requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED 1-4 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and/or other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Package specimens for transport and labels specimens accurately for test orders.
