Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Port Charlotte, FL. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, for an anticipated 3-month assignment with potential for permanent employment.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and maintaining accurate records, with a requirement for 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience and pediatric to geriatric patient experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles; follows physician orders and matches requisitions to tubes.
• Packages specimens for transport; stores samples at required temperatures; labels accurately; adheres to transport protocols.
• Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations; attends annual department trainings; handles inquiries from results.
