Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract opportunity in Port Charlotte, FL. Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm. Projected duration: 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The role requires 2-4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience, and pediatric to geriatric patient handling. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data recording, and maintaining specimen integrity.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly the venipuncture process to patients and demonstrate needle techniques.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes, label and centrifuge specimens, and package for transport.
• Store specimens by required temperature and ensure integrity for transport to testing labs.
• Comply with OSHA/DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
