Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Charles Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and perform clerical tasks to keep the workflow efficient.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required or preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Collects specimens according to procedures and ensures proper processing.
• Identifies patients accurately and matches identity with service.
• Data entry and processing of specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested.
• Performs clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly; perform other duties as assigned.
