Job summary

Labcorp in Alton, IL seeks a Phlebotomist to join our patient services team. The role involves blood collection, specimen handling, and data entry with emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday with some weekend coverage as needed, at Patient Service Centers or client offices. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy training or certification, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
