Job summary

Optum in the Pacific West region is hiring a Phlebotomist Float in Seattle, WA. The role involves venipuncture, specimen collection, processing and waived testing, with a focus on accurate labeling, safety, and patient care.

You'll interact with patients and providers, maintain compliance with HIPAA and SOW, assist with tests, manage supplies, and participate in occasional cross-site rotations. Full-time 40 hours weekly; shifts Monday–Friday with some Saturdays/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate from an accredited program.
• Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) certification required/state certification.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Venipuncture and specimen collection with proper patient instruction.
• Process and prepare specimens for testing and transport.
• Perform waived laboratory testing as needed.
• Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow SOW/operational standards.
