Job summary

Labcorp in Chicago is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at 3046 N. Halsted, IL. The role involves blood collections, specimen handling and providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced diagnostic setting.

Responsibilities include data entry, billing support, and travel to additional sites as needed. Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training; experience with pediatric/geriatric patients is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3+ months experience as a phlebotomist.
• 1 year+ phlebotomy experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
