Job summary

Essenti Talent in Greenwich, CT seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential to go perm. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate patient data in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens per established procedures, explaining venipuncture to patients, and adhering to safety regulations. Training, workflow improvements, and ongoing education are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 12 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED; 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow physicians' orders; match requisitions.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
