Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories is seeking phlebotomists to join our clinical team. You will collect blood and specimens in inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring proper labeling, processing, and adherence to CLSI guidelines. Collaboration with clinicians and mentorship for junior staff are key parts of the role.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and ASCP Certification. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for eligible candidates, with opportunities for shift

Qualifications

• Phlebotomists collect blood/specimens in clinical settings.
• Certification as Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP) is noted.
• Experience in specimen labeling, accessioning and processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens per guidelines.
• Identify patients, label and process specimens accurately.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure safe environment and outcomes.
• Operate Geisinger systems and tools as an autonomous user.
• Mentor students and new employees; participate in competency assessments.
• Support inventory management and continuous improvement efforts.
