Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our state-of-the-art lab team. You will collect blood and other specimens, adhering to CLSI guidelines, and support patient care across inpatient and clinic settings.

You will collaborate with clinicians, ensure proper labeling and specimen handling, mentor trainees, and participate in ongoing competency assessments. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASCP Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures per CLSI guidelines.
• Label, accession, and process specimens accurately.
• Collaborate with clinicians to ensure patient safety and care.
• Work in a team and escalate issues to supervisors as needed.
• Mentor students and new employees in the department.
• Maintain competency through Learning Management System and exams.
