Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a phlebotomist to support a medical facility in Roanoke, VA. This is a 6+ month contract with potential for contract-to-hire, offering a pathway to work with a top-tier healthcare organization.

Pay rate ranges from $19.90 to $23.50 per hour on W2, with pay based on experience and education; candidate must have strong phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric draws, and be flexible for weekends/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical training preferred (MA/Paramedic).
• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Active driving license.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during collection.
• Label specimens and complete requisition forms accurately.
• Adhere to waived testing procedures to ensure accuracy of results.
• Handle and store specimens to maintain integrity; transport and dispose per protocol.
• Perform EKGs as directed and monitor patients during procedures.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens sent to labs or transport.

Job description

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client's medical facility in Roanoke, VA. This is a 6+ months with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Pay Rate: $19.90 - $23.50/hr. on W2.

Duration: 6+ months

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Minimum 3 year of experience as a phlebotomist required.
• Active Driving License
