Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Charlottesville, VA. This contract position spans 3+ months with potential to convert to permanent placement.

The role requires solid venipuncture skills, comfort with pediatric and geriatric patients, and a strong focus on accuracy and patient care. Pay ranges from $19 to $22 per hour on W-2, with a Monday–Friday shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Active driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to procedures for waived testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
• Perform EKGs as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during procedures to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external labs or for transport.

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Charlottesville, VA. This is a 3+ months with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Pay Rate: $19 - $22/hr. on W2.

Shift: Monday -Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM

Duration: 3+ months

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
