Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist I to support our client’s medical facility in Christiansburg, VA 24073. This is a 3-month assignment with potential for contract-to-hire, offering a solid entry path with a top-tier healthcare organization.

Duration: 3 Months; Pay Range: $19.93-$21.36 per hour; Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Salary determined by experience and licenses where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–5 years phlebotomy experience required, pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections included.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Range: $19.93 Per Hour- $21.36 Per Hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8Am-4:30Pm)

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, and places samples.

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 to 5 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
