Job summary

Actalent in Imperial, CA is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to support laboratory operations with accurate specimen collection, processing, and patient care. This contract role emphasizes high-quality venipuncture and strict adherence to protocols.

You will collect, label, process, centrifuge, and transport specimens, verify orders, maintain records, and participate in trainings while following OSHA and regulatory standards. On-site position with benefits eligibility and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • Valid Phlebotomy Certification, where required by state regulations.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months of venipuncture experience in a laboratory or hospital setting.
  • Approximately 5 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Proficiency performing blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Strong knowledge of specimen processing, handling, storage, and transportation procedures.
  • Experience verifying test orders and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and applicable regulatory standards.

  • Troubleshoot specimen collection and processing issues and identify opportunities for workflow improvement.
  • Record maintenance data and perform equipment cleaning and decontamination procedures.
  • Respond to laboratory-related inquiries and provide information in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Follow all OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Participate in required trainings and stay current on laboratory procedures and best practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Imperial, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.70 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
