Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood samples by venipuncture and capillary techniques across ages. The role includes preparing specimens for testing, maintaining logs, and providing excellent patient service.

The position requires a high school diploma (minimum) and offers the possibility of travel to other sites as needed. Evening and weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling and patient needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
  • Three or more months of phlebotomy experience (preferred).
  • Labcorp phlebotomy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Phlebotomist – Fairbanks, AK

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm; additional hours and rotating Saturdays as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Minimum)
  • Three or more months of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
  • Prior Labcorp phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
Additional Job Standards
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency (in lieu of work experience)
  • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
