Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Prospect Research Officer to join the Development Support team. You will identify potential supporters, analyze wealth indicators, and create research profiles to inform gift planning and portfolio strategies.

The role requires data accuracy in the CRM, collaboration across the Development department, and adherence to HIPAA and APRA confidentiality. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in a related field are essential, with Raiser's Edge and analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience in a development office or similar environment.
• Experience with data management systems preferred, Raiser's Edge highly regarded; proficiency with analytics and predictive models is a plus.
• Must be extremely detail oriented with superior written and verbal communication skills; able to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Identify individual, corporate and foundation prospects using wealth indicators, philanthropy, interests, engagement and connections to BMC.
• Analyze, interpret, and summarize data from diverse sources to estimate potential gift capacity.
• Compose research profiles for individuals and trustees with accuracy and clarity.
• Create concise corporate and foundation research products with organizational history and financial data.
• Conduct wealth screenings and verification of data.
• Review and analyze large data sets to support portfolio strategy and donor identification.
• Assist the Director with prospect management and portfolio strategy meetings.
• Ensure accurate record keeping in the CRM database.
• Track news about donors/prospects and relevant local industry information.
• Uphold HIPAA and APRA confidentiality guidelines.
