Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a dedicatedpheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for the pheresis process at our center. You will monitor the donor and machine, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when the session ends.

You will document incidents using the PDA, ensure accurate donor data in the electronic system, and maintain a clean, safe work environment while following HSE and OSHA policies. Bilingual skills may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during the pheresis process using the PDA, including machine alerts, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system according to SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization’s discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
