Job summary

CSL is seeking a Donor Pheresis Technician in Texas to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process and to monitor the procedure. You will respond to alarms, disconnect the donor when complete, and maintain safety throughout the process.

You will use a PDA to record incidents, link equipment to donors, and ensure accurate donor data per SOPs. The role may involve cross-training and bilingual requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in a medical setting or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor using PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies/procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
