Pheresis Donor Support Specialist

Job summary

CSL is seeking a dedicated team member to support pheresis processing in a donor center. You will prepare autopheresis equipment, monitor donors, and ensure accurate data entry and safety protocols are followed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months of related experience. Strong attention to detail and ability to use a PDA for incident recording are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Will perform basic math calculations
• Must be able to read and follow SOPs and operate equipment safely

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness and awareness to any donor reaction during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, including machine alerts and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
