Job summary

CSL Vifor in Canton, OH is seeking a Pheresis Technician to support donor pheresis procedures on-site. You will prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis and monitor the process to respond to any alarms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents with the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the donor information system as per SOPs.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data is recorded in the donor information management system as outlined in SOPs.
• Understand policies and procedures for hyper-immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean, efficient work environment and ensure adequate operating supplies; follow HSE/OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
