Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a pheresis technician in the Tallahassee area to prepare donors, donor area, and equipment for pheresis procedures. You will monitor the process, respond to alarms, and disconnect donors after completion.

You will document incidents via PDA, link equipment to donors, and notify supervisors of flow issues. You must maintain data accuracy per SOPs and adhere to safety policies, with potential cross-training and bilingual requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after pheresis and notify staff.
• Record incidents during pheresis using the PDA, including machine alerts and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available. Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
