Job summary

Internships are 12 weeks paid with start dates in May or June; locations include remote or hybrid options in San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York or Seattle offices. The role develops experimentation and analytics skills for real-world impact.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in statistics, mathematics, economics, applied sciences, CS or related field.
• Experience manipulating large data sets; fluency in SQL and Python or R.
• Experience solving analytical problems using ML, statistics, forecasting, econometrics or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills to explain learnings to technical and non-technical partners.
• Strong critical thinking with AI-generated suggestions; validate correctness, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Ability to connect data analysis to real business problems.

Responsibilities

• Influence and evolve our product roadmap using data and exploratory analysis to understand user behavior and identify opportunities for product innovation.
• Design and implement core metrics; evaluate A/B experiments that drive these metrics.
• Explore alternative experimentation techniques to speed up evaluation.
• Gather signals about Pinner, Merchant, Creator, or Advertiser preferences using surveys and modeling approaches.
• Work cross-functionally to communicate insights and collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers.
