Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a machine learning intern to contribute to cutting-edge research and production ML systems from May/June for 12 weeks, with start dates in May or June. Remote or hybrid locations include San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York, or Seattle.

The role requires pursuing a PhD in CS/ML/NLP/Statistics or related fields, plus proficiency in at least one systems language or ML framework. US-based applicants only, with a base salary of $12,100 monthly.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work with ML frameworks and production ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead your own ML project from start to finish for Pinterest problems.
• Work with production ML systems including data engineering, training, inference and product integration.
• Prototype and experiment with frontier AI tools and agents.
• Validate AI outputs through testing, reviews and secure coding practices.
• Read and summarize code and documentation to understand unfamiliar codebases.
• Contribute to cutting-edge research applicable to Pinterest.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Take ownership of tasks with mentor and team guidance.
