Pinterest is seeking Data Science interns to help evolve and shape the future of our product — inspiring Pinners, connecting them with actionable content, and enabling teams to evaluate product changes faster than ever before. You’ll apply quantitative analysis, statistical techniques, modeling and data mining while collaborating with engineering and product partners.

The internship is 12 weeks, with fixed start dates in May or June and locations that may be remote or hybrid in San Francisco,

Qualifications

Pursuing a PhD in statistics, mathematics, economics, applied sciences, computer science or related field.
Ability to manipulate large data sets; fluency in SQL and Python or R.
Experience applying ML, statistical modeling, forecasting or econometrics.
Excellent communication to explain learnings to technical and non-technical partners.
Strong critical thinking when evaluating AI-generated suggestions and validating results.

Responsibilities

Influence and evolve our product roadmap using data and exploratory analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation.
Design and implement core metrics to guide team efforts and evaluate A/B experiments.
Explore alternative experimentation techniques to speed up idea evaluation.
Gather signals about user and advertiser preferences using surveys and modeling approaches.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, design and researchers to build new experiences.
