Pace® Analytical Services in Minnesota is seeking a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Chemistry for a hands-on internship supporting researchers in biopharmaceutical filtration device development. The role offers professional mentorship and leadership development opportunities while supporting client projects.

Responsibilities include laboratory activities, instrumentation use, data packages, and communicating results to colleagues and clients; the position may lead to publish internal notes.

Qualifications

• Graduate student completing a PhD in Chemistry
• Previous related internship preferred
• Good deductive reasoning and analytical approach to problem solving
• Able to handle multiple projects concurrently, self-motivated, and results driven
• Able to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• General laboratory activities and instrumentation including pipetting, preparation of solutions/samples/media, and operation of pH meters, autoclaves and analytical balances
• Lead projects to quantify the performance of filters and chromatographic devices used to purify samples
• Develop process strategies and data packages to solve problems for biopharmaceutical manufacturers
• Communicate the results of work to technical colleagues and client stakeholders
• Author technical publications such as application notes
• General laboratory upkeep and supplies maintenance
