Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Scientist II for a key client in Spring House, PA, a 3‑month assignment with potential extension. The role focuses on process development and downstream purification studies for large‑molecule biologic drug substances, with hands‑on LC, concentration, filtration, and purification work.

The ideal candidate has a PhD with 1+ year, or a Master’s with 2+ years, or a Bachelor’s with 4+ years of relevant experience in chemistry or biotech, plus hands‑on chromatography

Qualifications

• PhD with 1+ year (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related) required.
• Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform process development and downstream purification studies for large‑molecule biologic drug substances.
• Design and execute experiments involving liquid chromatography, biologics solution concentration, filtration, and purification processes.
• Support lab‑scale process models, handle samples, and document experimental data.
• Perform hands‑on laboratory work supporting biologics purification and process characterization.

Job description

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Scientist II for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Spring House, PA 19477. Details of the position are as follows:

Job Details

• Pay: $37 - $40 /hr to Start!!
• 3 - month assignment, possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
• Monday – Friday 1st shift
• Position will be mainly responsible for performing process development and downstream purification studies for large – molecule biologic drug substances.
• Position will design and execute experiments involving liquid chromatography, biologics solution concentration, filtration, and purification processes.
• Position will support laboratory – scale process models, handle samples, and collect, analyze, interpret, and document experimental data.
• Position will perform primarily hands on laboratory work supporting biologics purification and process characterization.

Qualifications

• A PhD with 1+ year, Master’s degree with 2+ years, or Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline is Required!
• Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography, including Protein A, CEX, and/or AEX, using AKTA Pure or AKTA Avant systems is Required!
• Experience with large-molecule drug substance manufacturing/process development and biologics solution concentration using SP-TFF and/or UF/DF is Required!
• Experience with protein purification, protein characterization, filter sizing/depth/sterile/nanofiltration, resin lifetime studies, and/or GMP processes is Preferred!
