Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to obtain medication histories at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, with alternating AM (6:30 am-3:00 pm) and PM (1:00 pm-9:30 pm) shifts, and every other weekend. This role requires state licensure/registration as a Pharmacy Technician and an emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, and may need an Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology.

• Basic math skills and medical terminology knowledge.

• Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in the area.
• Solves technical issues in the specialized field as they arise.
• Ensures documents and records are accurate and timely.
• Supports communication with patients and care team.
• Identifies quality improvement opportunities to ensure safe patient care.
• Participates in site or system specialized work teams as applicable.
• Maintains knowledge and contributes to education of others.
