Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You’ll support safe, accurate and efficient care while building relationships with patients and colleagues.

No prior experience required beyond a high school diploma; you will be eligible to obtain state registration as a pharmacy technician. Responsibilities include assisting with prescriptions, customer service, inventory management, and processing orders via phone and in person.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0 to 6 months of experience recommended.
• Eligible to obtain registration as a pharmacy technician with the state board of pharmacy.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
• Assist with prescriptions and phone orders, directing questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat, compliant work environment meeting company and government requirements.
• Support inventory management, stocking and rotation of drugs and supplies.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions for drop-off, pickup, and in-store services.
• Contribute to achieving patient and department goals through teamwork.
• Complete required training and adhere to HIPAA and related regulations.
• Process transactions at the cash register following established procedures.
