Job summary

Mercy Health in Elyria, OH is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to assist pharmacists in processing inpatient and outpatient medications. The role includes leading specialized activities such as patient medication history and chemotherapy IV compounding, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance.

This 40-hour week, dayshift position requires prior pharmacy experience, ExCPT/PTCB certification, and a driver’s license.

Qualifications

• ExCPT certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy.
• Valid state driver's license.
• 1 year of experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacist in processing medication orders for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Lead specialized activities such as medication history, chemo IV compounding, and sterile IV prep oversight.
• Assist in maintaining inventory, compliance, and billing accuracy within the department.
• Provide education and precepting for new technicians and students.
