Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support sterile and non-sterile compounding across multiple hospital pharmacies. The role emphasizes strict adherence to USP guidelines for sterile and non-sterile compounding, with responsibilities including IV solution preparation, inventory control, and interdepartmental collaboration.

The technician will train newer staff, ensure accurate charge processing, and assist in annual inventory cycles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Cross-trained across Mercyhealth locations to work proficiently.
• Proficiency in Chemotherapy preparation and USP Chapters 795/797/800.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to USP Chapters 795, 797 and 800 per ISMP guidelines.
• Prepares IV solutions including Dialysate, Epidural, TPN and Chemotherapy.
• Maintains IV room inventory and monitors beyond use dating.
• Places IV drug orders with wholesalers and restocks on delivery.
• Monitors dispense prep accuracy and IV medication administration.
• Training of new technicians and pharmacists on IV room procedures.
• Work across multiple Mercyhealth hospital pharmacies.
