The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor assists the Clinical Lab Manager by providing oversight of day-to-day operations in the clinical laboratory.
Provides support to, and serves as backup for the Clinical Lab Manager. Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations in the clinical laboratory. Leads initiatives at the direction/discretion of the Clinical Lab Manager. Overall responsibility for regulatory preparedness in area of oversight (working with lab leadership and staff). Ongoing monitoring of quality and performance metrics. Complete performance evaluations and ongoing supervision of personnel in area of oversight. Deliver disciplinary action and developmental action plans as warranted. Assists with operating and capital budget preparation and monthly expense variance reporting. Ensures appropriate staffing and reassign staff as dictated by workload. Monitors turn-around-time reports and implements corrective action to ensure the established timeframes are consistently met. Helps assess and recommend new instrumentation. Ensures implementation studies, LIS validation and staff training take place when new instrumentation and tests are implemented. Performs performance evaluations for staff. Evaluates CAP checklists and ensures compliance with all regulations. Monitors quality metrics and implements corrective action as needed to ensure all quality goals are met.
License/Certifications:
Medical Technologist (MT) (MLS) (ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) OR Medical Technologist (MT) (MLS) AMT- American Medical Technologist
Education:
Bachelor's Degree: Biological Science OR Chemistry; OR Clinical Laboratory Science OR Related field OR Certificate of Completion Military Training Program
Other Knowledge/Skills:
3yrs core lab operations and leadership experience required.

The compensation range for this position is $35.54 per hour - $61.13 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
