Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists with technical duties related to medication orders and IV admixtures. Responsibilities include medication order processing, distribution, inventory management, and quality assurance to ensure medication integrity throughout the facility.

What You Can Expect

• Enter charges and credits into the computer system.
• Restock and check Pyxis machines and nursing units, including onsite and offsite units.
• Verify the integrity of medications in Pyxis machines and floor stock areas.
• Check medication dating and stock levels.
• Deliver filled medication orders and pick up new orders for filling.
• Package and maintain records of non-prepackaged medications.
• Assist in order entry accuracy as a "second check".
• Perform monthly outdate checks in assigned departments.
• Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1 year sterile products experience preferred.
• 1 year sterile compounding experience preferred.
• 1 year pharmaceutical/pharmacology experience preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech-In-Training required.
• Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) - State Licensing Board.
• Pharmacy Tech Certification (PHT) - State Certification.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification.
