Qualifications

  • BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.

Aid with movement and placement of patients. Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living. Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records. Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. Patients we Serve: Surgical Oncology: Pre and post-operative care for patients with a cancer diagnosis. Nursing care focuses on pain management, monitoring input and output, advancing nutrition, drain and tube management, postoperative ambulation, wound care, and discharge teaching. General Surgery: Pre and post operative care or medical management to prepare for surgery. 6EW nurses participate in decision-making, mentoring and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to focus on providing care to a highly acute population of surgical oncology and general surgery patients in a fast paced environment. Achievements: Accredited ASC Commission on Cancer Ascension St. Vincent Surgical Oncology unit is located at 2001 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260 is hiring Full-time (2) 12-hour shifts, Night shift - 7:00PM – 7:30AM schedule. Every third weekend rotation and unit holiday rotation schedule.
