Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, TX seeks a part-time Pharmacy Technician (PRN) to assist pharmacists with clerical duties and prescription processing. The role includes entering orders, triaging inquiries, and handling patient payments, while maintaining records and the pharmacy’s appearance.

Preferred candidates will have retail pharmacy experience and strong customer service skills; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Licensed/registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Major/Essential Functions

This position is a PRN part-time Pharmacy Technician.

• Receives, interprets, enters into computer, and prepares prescription orders for pharmacists to check.
• Triage department information and inquiries (answering telephones).
• Maintains confidential records and files.
• Maintains order and appearance of the pharmacy.
• Use the point-of-sale system and collect payment when checking patient out.

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. License/Certification: Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year working in a retail pharmacy
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Bilingual is preferred but not required.
